People + Culture Lead

Thrive. As the People + Culture Lead on the support team, you will support the
People + Culture Manager in delivering accurate people administration, smooth
recruitment and onboarding, and a team member experience that reflects our core
values.

Responsibilities

The People + Culture Lead is responsible for ensuring accurate team member records, smooth people administration, and a positive team member experience across Pureflow. His/her responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the items mentioned below:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date team member records, including personal information, contracts, employment documents, and personnel files.
  • Maintain accurate HRIS records and ensure all team member changes are updated promptly.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure proper handling, storage, and access to team member information.
  • Organise and coordinate the monthly State of the Family call, including the necessary preparations and follow-up.
  • Ensure every team member has the required uniforms and valid, up-to-date company identification.
  • Organise and coordinate support team member events and activities.
  • Coordinate and facilitate refresher trainings for team members as required.
  • Support recruitment and selection processes, including job postings,
    coordinating interviews, communicating with candidates, and maintaining recruitment records.
  • Coordinate onboarding for new team members, ensuring all required
    logistics, documentation, and orientation activities are completed.
  • Maintain accurate leave records and prepare and submit the monthly leave report.
  • Manage the administration of company insurance schemes, including adding and exiting team members, updating records, coordinating renewals, and responding to team member queries and concerns.
  • Support performance management processes by coordinating appraisal
    timelines and following up on quarterly evaluations.
  • Respond to routine team member enquiries relating to policies, benefits,
    leave, and other People + Culture matters, escalating complex or sensitive issues to the People + Culture Manager.
  • Provide administrative and coordination support to the People + Culture function and assist with the implementation of P+C initiatives.
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the People + Culture Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business
    Administration, Social Sciences or a related field.
  • Proven work experience in an HR, people operations or administration role.
  • Working knowledge of Ugandan employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience using an HRIS or similar people records system.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; proven ability to prioritize and deliver on time.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as an overall ability to be clear and concise in all communications.
  •  Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine heart for serving people
  • Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data.
  • A professional HR certification or membership of HRMAU is an added
    advantage.
